The eternal cosmic Christ, angels and thrones and fire and the battle between good and evil is all part of the story the church tells this time of year. We can also remember that all these grand narratives come down to the actual lives of actual people whom God loves.

Our Acts sermon series continues with Paul in Corinth, struggling to share the good news about Jesus until he receives a gospel message himself. I spent this week at Living Water Ministries camp for the first time with LCS kids. A challenging week of camp is the perfect opportunity for the Holy Spirit to transform lives and institutions to share the gospel and direct us toward God's reign on earth.

Christ the King, or Reign of Christ, is the final Sunday of the church year. Our Gospel lesson is Jesus' iconic judgment of the nations from his heavenly throne, surrounded by the heavenly host. In this state I like to call him cosmic awesome Jesus, king of the universe, Lord of heaven and earth. So how is it that I recognized the significance of this story while relaxing after yoga?
