Sermon Audio Test 1

 UPDATE 11/14/12

With my new podcast software, I've got a much more user-friendly version of this one. The sound is still weird because I haven't edited it, but this player should at least make it easier to listen to.

In honor of National Coming Out Day 2012, and because my son has slept most of the day after his two-month-checkup vaccines, I'm trying to learn to post sermon audio online. Specifically, I recorded this sermon two years ago, on October 10th, 2010 - National Coming Out Sunday - , using an ancient digital recorder, suspecting that the resultant recording might someday have further public value.

Lutheran Church of the Savior Sermon 10.10.10

Because I'm still trying to figure this out, it looks like at this moment the best I can do is link to a Dropbox mp3 file, which you can then download (click Download in upper-right-hand corner, then Direct Download) and play on your own software.

I'll try to change it so that you can just listen from this page, but apparently you'll need to be patient with me. I have not gotten so far as to learn editing yet, so I apologize for the slow start and background noise. And I haven't re-listened to the entire thing, but I trust it's all there.

So there you have it: sermon audio. Fitting that its format and access are so raw, since the sermon itself is as raw and emotional as I have ever been in a pulpit. I had no idea how it would be received, having been the pastor at Lutheran Church of the Savior for less than a year at that time. Now, two full years later, I can tell you this was the most-complimented, most well-received sermon I have yet preached in this community. Speaking the gospel from the deepest part of me, the vulnerability I offered and the welcome I received, opened the way to stronger relationships than I had previously enjoyed.

All this while I'm away on parental leave! I just can't quit this gospel-sharing business.

Please let me know if this works in the comments. Thanks
