Sermon Audio for Funeral of Glenora Perez 3/25/2017

Over 200 people joined us to celebrate and remember the life of Glenora Perez on Saturday, and many more who wanted to be here were unable to attend. Below is a description of Glenora's life by her family, as well as a link to audio of my sermon at her funeral.

Glenora passed away in the comfort of her home, surrounded by loved ones on March 16, 2017.  She was preceded in death by brothers Bob and Harold and sisters Maxine and Peggy and the love of her life Miguel Perez.
Glenora is survived by her sons Steven, Michael (Amanda) Antonio (Lynn), a nephew Joey Thomas who was like a son to her; grandchildren Charline, Colin, Erika, Miguel, Xavier, Izabella, Courtney, and Buster; great granddaughter Aubrey; a brother Bill Thomas and many nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.
Glenora began her career at Borgess Hospital in 1961. Over her 47 years with them she worked as a surgical technician and reprocessing supervisor.  She also formed bonds with friends which still hold strong today.  Glenora retired from Borgess in 2007.
After retirement she kept herself busy.  She enjoyed yearly trips either up-north or down-south with close friends and spent lots of time with family.  Glenora was the most amazing grandmother; she left no doubt that she loved her grandchildren more than anything and she cherished every moment with them.
When she wasn’t enjoying time with family and friends she could always be found “working for the Lord.”  Glenora donated and volunteered for many charities over the years.  Loaves and Fishes was one of her favorites and she continued to volunteer for them until her last couple of weeks with us.  She was also part of the Ladies Auxiliary at the VFW.  Glenora was an active member at Lutheran Church of the Savior and the church was a big part of her life.
Glenora helped, accepted and loved everyone she knew.  Words cannot begin to express what a special gift she was to all of the lives that she has touched or how very much she was love and will be missed.
